12 week creation time
Curated by Hermione, the ‘Garden’ is a 7-piece exhibition of her favourite embroidered artworks, presented in her botanical gallery. The dresses offered in the exhibition will be available for a limited time only, creating an exclusive opportunity to invest in a piece of Hermione de Paula heirloom bridal art before the dresses change to a new offering for the next exhibition.
These ‘signed artists prints’ are created without adaptions, customisations and personal messaging included but instead with Hermione’s embroidered signature hidden within them. Each piece has been chosen and created by Hermione and also comes with a signed print of the embroidery and a short message explaining her inspiration and aspirations for the work. If you do wish to personalise your piece of wearable art then our inhouse design team are on hand to offer tailor made final touches packages. This optional service can include alterations work, couture hand finishings and any additional special personal details you may wish to add such as a beloved pet portrait, sentimental date or initials.
The concept for this exhibition is to make Hermione de Paula’s signature hand-embroidered gowns more accessible, both in price point and location to women worldwide, without forgoing the quality, love and craftsmanship which goes into each piece of the wearable art created in the atelier. Hermione recognises the need for sustainable fashion, which is always at the heart of her design philosophy. Sadly budget can leave many brides pushed into buying mass produced, over stocked and more often than not unethical gowns. By launching the ‘Garden’ Gallery Hermione exhibits gowns from our Custom and Bespoke collections which can be reduced in price by removing her signature personalisation’s and adaptions usually inclusive in the much more immersive experience. No other aspect in the creation of the gown changes. Hermione de Paula will also donate £100 per gown to Greenpeace, so ‘Garden’ brides can give a little back to their gowns botanical muse.
The atelier’s offering of this 7-piece collection of nature-inspired Ready-to-Wed signature designs is available on a made-to-order basis within 12 weeks. There will also be a limited edition of gowns available to buy ‘off-the-peg’ from the London showroom for international brides unable to embark on the bespoke experience, brides with little time until their wedding or brides in search of their dream dress who do not have a bespoke or couture budget.
A beautiful bespoke veil is the perfect complement to the ‘Garden’ collection. Add a splash of colour, your first dance lyric or a special message around the boarder to create a bespoke signature for your magical day. These heirloom bespoke veils are often framed as embroidered art to hang in one’s home after the magical day.
"Statement veils have become such an important part of our bridal experience. The modern wedding has evolved so much but there is something uniquely romantic and timeless about a veil. It is a place to add bespoke details such as dates, monograms, sentimental elements symbolising significant memories and even a touch of colour. Thus, brides are seeing the value in creating an heirloom piece to pass down or display in their home as art long after the event. Whether you are wearing a classical gown, a contemporary trouser suit or a pair of jeans the veil is your opportunity to create something personal and bold yet unquestionably traditional and bridal." - Hermione for British Vogue, UK, October 2019
In your ‘Garden’ consultation, our junior stylist will help guide you through the 7 botanical designs and colour options which are available in this service. This is the perfect dress journey for brides who love the Hermione de Paula gowns just as they are and happy not to customise or go bespoke. This collection has been pre-designed for women looking for heirloom art in their wedding dress, a timeless silhouette combined with Hermione’s signature embroideries and most importantly handmade with love. Hermione de Paula is known for celebrating the sustainable aspect of timeless design as she invites her brides to take a walk through her embroidered garden. With the future in mind, the silhouettes and artworks have been selected from the HdeP botanical archives, showcasing the House of HdeP’s heritage and belief that beauty does not have an expiry date.
If you wish for a more immersive service, we recommend our Renewal, Custom, Bespoke, Couture and Love Story options, where you have the opportunity to work intensively with your own dedicated HdeP design team and Hermione herself.
